GHOST HUNTING EXPERIENCE & GHOST TOURS

Discover Traverse City's Spooky Side on a Walking Ghost Tour!

We strive to provide entertaining and educational experiences to our guests, and to give them the opportunity to explore the history, ghost stories, and legends of the area in a unique and engaging way.

We are dedicated to providing a fun and memorable experience for all who visit us, and to preserving the history and heritage of our area.

STORY

Why we do this

We believe that the best way to explore and truly understand the area a person visits it to learn about how the locals speak of the dead that preceded them in the area.

Traverse City is a town that has been deeply connected to the past for hundreds of years. It is full of stories, legends and myths that have been passed down through generations. The people who live here know these tales like they're their own family members, they know when, where and why they happened.

Haunted Traverse has evolved over the years! We started our venture with the Ghost Farm of Kingsley Haunted Trail. This trail was started in honor of Frank Dine, the Dine family's patriarch.

Founded in 2010, the Ghost Farm is a family has helped fundraise for many children's organizations. The Ghost Farm of Kingsley is Traverse City's premier theatrical haunted house attraction.

Our guests enjoy an interactive, scream inducing experience in our Cursed Barn, Haunted Trail, and Gravely Greenhouse filled with monsters, special effects and amazing volunteer actors. But providing the best Haunted Trail in Michigan was just the beginning.

Next, we started the Traverse City Ghost Tours which with our Historical Ghost Lantern Tour. Voted the #1 tour in Traverse City our second year in operation. How exciting!

Haunted Traverse Tours has always had 3 goals:

1. To offer a fun and exciting look at the ghost lore in the area to Traverse City's guests.

2. Highlight the rich and fascinating history of the Traverse City area to visitors to the area.

3. To help our fellow community members by representing Traverse City with honor and enthusiasm.

All of which are best reflected with our Historical Ghost Lantern Tour where you will prowl through downtown Traverse City in search of ghosts and specters. Find out why Traverse City's fate may have been very different - if not for a game of cards, how the State Theatre may show you more than the latest movie and join us on a hunt for the spirits that haunt the location of Traverse City's first graveyard.

Now, Haunted Traverse is expanding to include multi-day tours in the Midwest region which highlight the paranormal happenings unfolding.

Haunted Traverse Tour Company was founded by the Grand Traverse County local, me!

My name is Desirae, but friends call me Dez, and I hope that you enjoy what I put my heart and soul into. My personal goal is to bring joy and laughter into this world. And before I leave this realm, my goal is to have done my best to truly serve my fellow travelers in this life. Be that mankind, animal, or vegetation!

So, welcome to Haunted Traverse and enjoy!

Desirae, aka Dez

Hello! My name is Desirae and I am the  great grand daughter of a Kentucky witch. My great grandmother Adelaide was born in Kentucky and was imbued with particular gifts.  One of Addie Belle's legacy to her descendants was the sensitivity to perceive spirit! So  you could say that the paranormal is in my blood! Literally! Adelaide had other interesting gifts as well which I touch on in my tour.

My own experiences with the paranormal are told on my tours. From my sighting of a ghostly spirit in the basement of the State Theater to an interesting encounter with a stack of books at a local, used bookstore. In the summer of 2017, I landed in the hospital and actually had an encounter with two spirits in the MRI machine and could not get them to be quiet.  Life is pretty interesting and fun when you know without a doubt there is something more out there. What that exactly is, I do not know for sure, but I enjoy exploring this subject and pushing the limits of what we know about the lore of the paranormal.

So life is interesting when you have Addie Belle's blood running through your veins, but it's nothing compared to the stories of the dead of Traverse City.  I hope you'll join me on a tour where we truly bring the dead back to life...well sort-of!
